Cricket Et Al presents: The Usman 232
And an update on the Afghanistan Fundraiser: March 2, Melbourne
By now you should all be familiar with the extraordinary analogue scoresheets Thomas Miles has been contributing to Cricket Et Al.
Gideon and I met Thomas in Adelaide some years back and again at the MCG this summer, where he mentioned the scoring he does and I asked him to send across some images.
The minute I heard he was in Sri Lanka with his coloured pens, rulers and the assorted implements I knew we had to get him on board.
A few of you saw his Usman Khawaja 232 wagon wheel and scoring from the first Test and suggested we make it a t-shirt. Well, with the help of Dan from Fisher Classics and the people at Betoota, we have done just that.
It is a thing of great beauty and it can be purchased by following this link.

Meanwhile, we are very excited about the fundraiser we are doing at Como Park in Melbourne on Sunday, March 2 with Sam Perry.
As Gideon explained in this post we are hoping to raise enough money to enable our friend Mustafa Qamari to navigate the labyrinthine Australian immigration complex in order to be reunited with his family who are stranded in Kabul and Tehran.
It is heartbreaking to contemplate the pain of being displaced and denied the chance to hold your family close.
Mustafa is a journalist working for the London-based Afghanistan International and also doing 12-hour shifts at a warehouse in Dandenong to support his parents, aunt, wife, sister and five brothers. He gets one day off every 14 days.
Sam, Gideon and I will be doing a live Cricket Et Al show and there’ll be a chance to tip some money in by bidding for some very good items we’ve picked up here and there.
Some of you bought tickets in order to donate but weren’t going to attend. Thanks very much for being so generous but we’ve tweaked the ticket sales system so you can now donate without buying a ticket.
We were a bit concerned as the room only holds 100 people. If it doesn’t rain we’ll go full Glastonbury, but we can’t bank on that and so will have to keep an eye on the number of attendees.
So, if you want to attend and/or donate to help Mustafa and his family reunite you can use the QR code below or click this link.
The shirts look great ..! Snapped up one of each colour..😎. Was that the ground for the occasion, so this is a great memento for a great cause.🙏👍😎. Thank you team
