Everyone loves a pendant so I feel compelled to point out that Josh Philippe is not returning to his home state. He is WA born and bred. Ex Wanneroo then Scarborough and WA under 17s to under 19's to Under 23s to the State team before join Sydney 6's in the BBL whilst remaining a WA state player.

Thanks Matthew. The great Malcolm Conn has also pointed out that Philippe is a WA local who spent a lot of time playing for Sixers. My bad.

Very good. Wilson Park Silverwater is now Cricket Central. Who’d have thought. I took 4 wickets there in 1991 in my first ever game of real cricket where I could get the ball to swing. There were concerns then of contamination from the previous industrial use of the land, be we were only 12 year olds and not enough blood in our bodies to contaminate. But the real story is that Jack Edwards as Captain of NSW took some wickets with economy, but no runs. Currently the only realistic possible selection to add to the E team of Australian caps. They need him bad as they only have 10 and can’t field a team. 😒

apologies for error in spelling Corban Middlemas’s name in original post. I’m blaming autocorrect but I suspect the fault lies closer to home.

For god's sake, can we please call them batsmen and not "batters".

Don't forget fieldsmen and bowlsmen. Or is it bowlersmen?

Not sure why Pete reckons the people at Cricket Central were "odd"?
