Todd Greenberg is to be appointed CEO of Cricket Australia. It would be more accurate to say that he has been confirmed. Since Nick Hockley foreshadowed his stepping down, the job has been Greenberg’s to decline. As CEO of the Australian Cricketers’ Association, he’s built sound relations with Hockley and CA’s chairman Mike Baird. As a Sydney resident, he forms part of the power networks that primp and preen our elites. He has been in his present position four years, long enough for an ambitious young man. Short of his being cruelled, or cancelled, or making a shock admission on the Truth Bike, he has been short odds to move on and in.
