Beautiful work, Peter. Enjoyable and moving in equal measure. Thank you, and my condolences.

I’m with Margaret and Andrew-you would have been great, in a Kid Congo kind of way. I’d love to know the tunes you auditioned with.

“Deluxe Service Station” is a great ear worm. I wore out the mix tape I had it on.

“And the Lord is our auto-pilot”.

What a fantastic piece. I had never heard of these bands but Peter has captured the feel, the times and the places so brilliantly. Wonderful read.

Really great piece - yeah the Cowboys were quite mad. I knew Johnny Crash (Janis Friedenfels) and sad to hear he’s gone now. He was a bit of a hectic person [speed?] but quite nice, I used to play 50’s jazz in lounge rooms with him early 80’s.

Thanks. Not many people drove in the slow lane around that scene. He later played with Mark in The Slaughtermen. Last time I saw him I reckon he was working the bar at one of their gigs. I loved his drumming style.

Really enjoyed this Peter. The Cowboys sure were something. I remember seeing them on Countdown and thinking "this is really good!"

Wonderful evocation of that period. Wonderful contribution to Et Al. Although, did the sub absent himself for a visit to the pub?

did you know ollie olsen as well?

Not really. We sort of crossed paths occasionally. I think he took up with an ex of mine at one stage. It’s a long time ago. They never invited me over.

Ash played a reunion gig with the Models in the Gershwin Room at the Espy in 1998 - I've never heard keyboards like his, just awesome.
