The final episode is not so much LD saying f you as "Krup you": great episode from S7 when Larry steals a pair of trousers from Banana Republic, insults some kids running a lemonade stand, is forced to wear female underwear by the ever philandering Jeff, and sings a song about Officer Krupke from Westside Story with uproarious gusto that lands him in trouble with the police - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fM8ujACQGo

I haven’t watched one episode of Curb, but I’ve been laughing hysterically reading this and watching the clips. I think I have missed out big time!

Just like Better call saul, I am saving CYE for ‘when I will have time’. This made me more excited than I thought I could be. Thank you so much for this excellent writing.

The Leon actor’s name is JB Smoove!

Otherwise, a beautifully written piece, many thanks Peter!

Oops, thanks. Silly name, but I should at least have got it right. There’s a good long form recent interview with him somewhere where he talks about being on Curb. It’s worth a watch.

I saw him perform his full-body standup show at The Thornbury Theatre in 2012, the same tour when he MC’d the Meredith Gift. He’s absolutely mad.

I’d never heard of him until he showed up after Katrina with the Blacks.

Love that you've found as much joy out of the show as I have Peter. This reminded me of some moments I'll have to re-watch. Thanks!

The Palestinian Chicken episode is truly incredible.

Off topic, I saw a band called RVG on the weekend that I think you might like if you haven't checked them out yet.

RVG? On to it. Thanks.

Thanks for a marvellous write up of this wonderful show. I’m sitting here by myself laughing my head off remembering some classic episodes (the racist dog; Larry questioning the Japanese guy whose dad was a failed kamikaze pilot; Larry taking the little kid to Playboy mansion cos he wants to see a naked woman) and I’m only halfway through season 5. I thought Ricky Gervais was the only one who did cringe comedy so well, but Larry is right up as well. As funny a show as I’ve ever seen and thanks for the write up.
