Pete and Gideon watch Australia win an epic Test match at the MCG, wonder whether they count in the world record crowd, and think there might be something in five-day cricket after all. Also: tributes to Pat Cummins and Jasprit Bumrah, and calls for a snicko royal commission.

Great summary! I was lucky to be at the G for the last day - well part of it! Loved the joy, colour and noise of the Indian supporters. BUT as a person of senior years my eardrums could not tolerate the constant loud deep bass. They hurt! I reluctantly left to watch the last session at home. And re the MCG, it's a magnificent stadium. Thanks for your work. Much happier to support you hear than having to buy the Australian to read your work!
Cracking test match ! Bizarre approach by India , miracles like Gabba ' 21 don't happen very often and the cavalier approach didn't work this time .
However, I wouldn't be surprised if Virat and Rohit play better at Sydney under traditionally more benign conditions, with their backs to the wall , and professional pride on the line .
