Definitely a sense that this Aussie team is not as good as they think they are. Clung on to a draw in the Ashes, and out of the WC to a team they refuse to play bilaterally.
Winners win, and good luck to Afghanistan (underdog) and England (because they’re playing India, and how funny would it be if the tournament designed for them to win went to someone else).
I am so pleased that you two enjoyed the Afghanistan/Bangladesh comedy fest as much as I did. We were actually doing a pop-up broadcast for Whiteline Wireless, and it was undoubtedly the most extraordinary and enjoyable game we've ever covered! The fact that Europe slept while it was on meant that many of my cricketing correspondents weren't watching, and so didn't get to experience the drama, comedy, shithousery and sheer delight that was evident! Despite having 4 Australians commentating, none was the least bit resentful of Afghanistan's deserved qualification, but the 4 hour roller coaster was the best free ride we've ever had!
