Adam Zampa has cleared up his path to recent NSW selection, explaining that his state “weren’t forced” to pick him, as was claimed by current selector, Stuart Clark, on ABC Grandstand on Saturday.
Speaking exclusively to Cricket Et Al, Zampa expressed surprised at the public comments from current Cricket NSW Board Member and selector Clark, who – despite selecting Zampa – on Saturday said “we were told to” and “if he wants to be part of the NSW four-day set-up, he needs to come to training and play grade cricket”.
Zampa responded by saying he sensed there had been a miscommunication somewhere, while wryly noting “I know I haven’t played grade cricket for a while, but this takes me back.”
