I tried to post this yesterday but it doesn't seem to have got through. My apologies if it turns up twice:

The Chaps, "McRawhide", for the line "See you, Jimmy." McRawhide also emerged in 1982.

Perhaps Roy Harper's "When An Old Cricketer Leaves The Crease" might seem too obvious, but it works, I believe, not just as an elegy for Jimmy Anderson, but increasingly it would seem for the Test cricket he graced for such a long time.

Here is one that reminds me of Jimmy - Rare song by the super unknown band: Dick Slessig Combo - Carl Bronson (Matmos), Mark Lightcap (Acetone) and Steve Goodfriend (Radar Brothers) perform as the Dick Slessig Combo. The group creates dreamy instrumental arrangements of songs from the late '60's through the early '70's. They produce a high desert evening quiet drift on the Jimmy Webb classic "Wichita Lineman" that clocks in at a calming 43 minutes.

Great call and thanks for reminding me of this track. I came across it reading Dylan Jones’ excellent book The Wichita Lineman (pre see nt from Gideon)
