Re umpires and going off for bad light, I agree that it’s a bad look when a six has just been hit but we don’t just need to think about the batters. In less than excellent light it can be very hard for fielders to pick up the ball, and if that’s the case then it can very quickly become unreasonable and/or dangerous. And they don’t have a sightscreen to help either. As an umpire in training in Brisbane 20 years ago the advice was always that whether or not the square leg umpire can pick up the ball all the way through is often the best guide for viewing conditions/safety.
Do you guys know the YouTube feed is open, ie free to everyone? My daughter is really happy about that, but I was going to gift her a subscription to the pod for Christmas. Sorry for the admin notice. Loving your analysis, as always.
Yes, Adrian, the YouTube is free. The theory is that it acts as a gateway drug to the website, which is funded by subscribers. As far as gift ideas are concerned, we have merch! https://www.cricketetal.com/p/merch

Nicely done. Already got the T-shirts; can't wait to hand them over to the kids on Christmas Day.
